1. Name and hometown? Cover of the Runner's Anniversary speical J. Shawn Harrison, I grew up in Malad, Idaho. I've called Cache Valley home for almost 28 years. I've lived in Logan, Millville and just moved to Nibley. 2. Funniest thing on a run? This one is hard. I was captured in a photo during last year's EPIC relay holding an umbrella in the wind and rain that seemed to make a lot of people chuckle, especially those in my van as I waited for our runner. But there have been a couple of times when I've run off into the bushes on long runs along the road to pee, only to have a car or truck slowly drive by and stare at me. The last guy to catch me was laughing pretty hard. 3. Food you eat right before you run? I don't eat before I run. If I'm doing a long run or a race, I will eat a banana about an hour before. I do drink water, but I've got a sensitive stomach and have learned the hard way to run on an empty stomach. At least it works
1. Name and hometown? I was born and raised in Logan … spent my whole life here (that’s a long time)! I moved to Millville almost 20 years ago and love the “country” life. I love to travel and get out of the valley. My favorite part of a vacation is coming out of Sardine Canyon and seeing Cache Valley. 2. Funniest thing on a run? I was running Ragnar Florida Keys. They had warned us (when running by the water) to be aware of exotic snakes and spiders more than alligators. I had a 10 mile run in the middle of the night and was unfamiliar with the area. My support van was a few miles up the road and I didn’t want to get lost. I was concentrating on making sure that I could see “butt” lights ahead of me. As I was running I could see a shadow of a HUGE TARANTULA on the sidewalk. There were bushes and brush on both sides so I couldn’t run on the road. I’m not a screamer but, I did yell pretty loud as I jumped over that damn banana peel! 3. Food you eat rig
